Hot Meals Program

In Columbus, a free hot meal is served every night of the week.  Average attendance varies from 30 to 80 attendees.  All food is donated by the volunteers who serve the meals and the churches and community sites that host them. The only requirement is to sign in at the entrance!  If you are in need, please join us; a schedule of meal sites is located below. We are always in need of additional volunteers.  If you are interested in helping serve the meals or in making food or monetary donations to the program, please call FPC’s Hot Meals Coordinator, Sarah Sanders, at 812-447-2503, or contact Love Chapel at 812-372-9421.  Thank you

For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat,
I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink,
I was a stranger and you invited me in.
Matthew 25:35

How YOU Can Help:

»  Join us at FPC on Friday evenings!  We usually meet to cook between 3 and 4 p.m.  The meal is served at 5 p.m. and we are usually ready to head home by 6.

»  Take one Friday each year.  Could your family and friends work together to provide and serve the entire meal on Friday each year?  This would be a tremendous service to the community and a welcome break for the teams that serve monthly meals.

»  Help us stock our food pantry shelves!  We appreciate any food donations you have and can store them in our dry pantry or large freezer.  Specific items we use regularly:  bags of dry noodles, bags of frozen meatballs, canned chicken, packages of cookies, bottles of salad dressing, and canned or frozen vegetables.  We are also happy to accept left-over items from large events, frozen hams or turkeys, fresh produce, etc.  Please contact the church  office if you would like to make a monetary donation.
